Interim Commercial Manager

Copello are pleased to be partnered with a large engineering services consultancy, recruiting for a Commercial Manager for an initial 6 month contract (inside IR35).

The Commercial Manager will be predominantly working within the aviation side of the business, as well as across the wider group delivering safety critical programmes to complex government and defence organisations.

The core responsibilities of the Commercial Manager will be identifying and managing risk in bids, including reviewing proposals and contracts. Therefore it is key that the Commercial Manager has strong contract negotiation and change management expertise.

Other responsibilities will include;

• Ensuring that all bids and proposals are prepared in accordance with current processes
• Ensure all Commercial practices are adhered too (including appropriate policies, procedures and lifecycle processes)
• Manage and resolve any day to day commercial issues
• Build fantastic relationships with the end customer and senior stakeholders
• Implement and drive effective Commercial change management (within requirements scope & price)

Ideally the selected Commercial Manager will have a proven capability of negotiating contracts, red–lining draft contracts and drafting contract amendments as well as identifying contractual risks and effective risk mitigation.

It would be highly advantageous for the successful Commercial Manager to be able to demonstrate previous experience of managing proposals to customers in line with UK law as well successful delivery of services across the EU.

This role will be working within a safety critical and high security environment, therefore it is essential that the selected candidate has commercial management experience in a similar industry (defence, MOD, aviation, air traffic management or similar). It is also an essential requirement that the Commercial Manager be eligible and willing to obtain Security Clearance.

The Commercial Manager will be based in Bristol and work in a hybrid fashion. Therefore suitable applicants must be available to attend the Bristol office a minimum of 2–3 days per week.
