PROJECT MANAGER – Our client, one of the leading construction companies in the UK are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join their successful, established team.

As Project Manager, you will have the responsibility for the completion of the design, construction and delivery of projects on time and within budget, in accordance with the client's agreed expectations.

This position is a key role within the company and you will be expected to work as a team member in achieving the outcomes of the organisation.

Your role is crucial throughout the Pre–Construction and Construction stages of your project.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and supporting the design and delivery of identified capital infrastructure and non infrastructure management projects with the focus on design, quality H&S, budget & programme.
  • Managing the design and construction workshop & review meetings against set inputs and outputs to ensure effective project delivery against client, partnership or contract objectives.
  • Managing directly, the role will liaise with others in the management of and engagement with a set of internal and external stakeholders, including technical services providers, contractor partners, internal and external project managers, asset management, asset operations, HSQE and all departments, to ensure project timescales are met.
  • Overseeing the management of construction project design, estimation and project planning including all relevant statutory processes, procurement management and maintenance forecasting, working closely with the designer & contractor and all departments (e.g. asset management, HSQE, communications, customer operations and asset operations departments).
  • Managing the project controls, including resourcing and service delivery KPI requirements, ensuring contractor progression where relevant and approving all project actual cost applications & payment certificates where necessary.
  • Managing the production and approval of project delivery plans, contractor plans, cash flow projections and earned value analysis.
  • Managing the day–to–day construction service providers for capital projects, including conformance and compliance. Work with your Construction Partners & Site Engineer Teams to ensure all project drivers are covered on a weekly & monthly basis. This will include site visits to the live & planned construction projects.
  • Supervising the project close–out activities, including commissioning and handover to operations and maintenance.
  • Performing any other duties delegated by the senior project manager or client's programme management team.

Requirements for the role

  • Previous Experience of delivering 40/50m projects
  • Minimum 10yr Experience as a Project Manger
  • Civil Engineer/Construction Management level 8 degree qualified
  • Either MRICS or MCIOB Chartership, whilst also having experience in pre and post contract project management.
  • Able to demonstrate management of a project throughout its whole lifecycle and have experience in successfully managing clients and their expectations.
  • Have a strong knowledge of both private and public sector clients, and be proficient in construction projects
