SGN has established a new Future of Energy organisation (FoE). The FoE Directorate is aimed at helping SGN navigate the energy transition, ensuring it remains at the forefront of UK energy delivery and is well–positioned to take advantage of emerging opportunities that UK decarbonization will provide. As part of this new function, the Business Development Group will be responsible for the end–to–end business development process from origination through to financial close, working in collaboration with the rest of the FoE team and other internal stakeholders. Specifically, this role reports into the Director of Business Development and the key responsibilities are set out below.

  • Lead the commercial development of investment opportunities for the Future of Energy group to develop robust, investable propositions.
  • Lead market and commercial analysis to identify, develop and secure key commercial opportunities in energy infrastructure projects in line with SGN strategy.
  • Manage financial modelling and risk analysis to support commercial opportunity development, structuring and evaluation.
  • Deliver high quality investment/Board Committee papers and presentations to support investment approvals process.
  • Project manage business development opportunities through end–to–end lifecycle managing internal stakeholders, external advisors, and contractual negotiations.
