This is a unique opportunity to join an established real estate business as an interim Group Reporting Manager. The main purpose of the role is to manage the preparation of the group's subsidiary statutory financial statements and to support the half year external reporting process.
You will be joining the Group Financial Controllers team in their central London office. Across functions, the Group Finance team is responsible for the Group's internal & external reporting, Tax compliance, Treasury management, and the maintenance of the Group's accounting policies and internal control environment.
Key responsibilities
• Report to the Senior Statutory Reporting Manager.
• Ownership of the successful delivery of subsidiary statutory financial statements including:
• Management of the financial statement preparation process for circa 60 companies;
• Effective review of the statutory accounts to ensure compliance with FRS101;
• Liaison with auditors and directors of Statutory companies;
• Drafting narrative disclosures including the Directors' report and Strategic report; and
• Liaison with the centralised accounts preparation team, Divisional finance teams, company secretarial and the auditors to ensure prompt review, audit and sign–off financial statements.
• Management of preparation of subsidiary accounts for newly acquired businesses and integration to Mitie's processes.
• Assistance with liquidations, and associated accounting. This requires working closely with Company secretarial and other Group finance teams.
• Support the Deputy Group Financial Controller with preparation of the financial statement sections of the Interim Financial Statements.
Requirements
• A qualified chartered accountant (e.g. ACA, ACAS) with at least 3 years PQE;
• Strong technical accounting skills, including:
• Advanced working knowledge of IFRS and FRS101 Companies Act requirements;
• Experience in applying technical accounting standards in a group consolidation context and also in subsidiary financial statements;
• A self–motivated individual who can deliver high quality work to tight reporting deadlines and demonstrate initiative in solving problems;
• Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management would be an advantage.
