The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.

SQA is changing how we utilise our data and we are looking for a new Head of Data and Analytics in our Policy, Analysis & Standards directorate. This role will lead the Data & Analytics business area in delivering high quality data analysis including official statistics, cutting edge quantitative research and analysis and user–centred analytical tools. This role attracts a Market Supplement of GBP4000.

You will lead the development of new data initiatives such as interactive visualisations and automation of statistical products, and promote innovative data focussed ideas and technologies in the organisation. In addition you will oversee the official statistics function whilst managing the resources involved in this.

This role will require you to manage, coach and mentor a team to ensure optimum performance and to ensure agreed targets are met on time and within budget. You will need to be able to develop, build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at a senior level to ensure effective service delivery and foster partnership working within Scotland and across the other 3 countries of the UK.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 9 or have significant experience in a similar senior post. A strong track record in the field of data and analytics and statistics, working at a senior level would be expected.
