An exciting new opportunity now exists within our Treasury Finance team! As a Treasury Finance Manager, you will act as a subject matter expert responsible for the accounting of a broad range of treasury products including, but not limited to, derivatives, medium term notes, money market deposits, bonds, repos etc. The role involves significant technical knowledge, practical systems ability and communication skills. This is a great opportunity to develop in–depth knowledge and understanding of technical accounting and products. While core systems provide the ability to investigate data and variances, collaboration with SMEs and stakeholders is also required. Continuous improvement of processes, enhancements to the control environment and maximising the efficiency of our systems is key.
In a nutshell this role is about:
- Overseeing the financial accounting and control of a range of Treasury products, from source system and deal bookings through to external financial reporting.
- Overseeing the production of Group statutory reporting relating to these Treasury products and manging queries from auditors
- Producing monthly Treasury management reporting (reconciliations, control files and senior management packs) and commentary including variance to forecast analysis
- Assisting in the implementation of the Funds Transfer Pricing process in line with Group policy, including manual journal entries and validation of system postings
- Taking ownership of TMS, Subledger and General Ledger accounting rules and mappings as related to Treasury products
- Acting as a key point of contact for Treasury Front Office, Treasury Operations and wider Finance in relation to Treasury Finance areas
- Participating in Projects relating to Treasury Finance, either those led by external teams or those developed internally in Treasury Finance, driving a culture of continuous improvement and maximising the efficiency of our system landscape
- Maintaining awareness of IFRS exposure drafts and guidance notes as related to Treasury funding products and transactions, coordinating policy development and implementation
- Ensuring documented processes and controls are in place to deliver accurate financial metrics as well as designing and implementing initiatives to improve the financial governance as measured through number of audit findings (internal and external)
- Sharing knowledge and information proactively with key senior contacts and assisting them in identifying and addressing issues and future requirements
There are a few essentials you need to bring
- ICAS or equivalent qualified
- Experience in accounting for Treasury Finance products, including but not limited to derivatives, medium term notes, money market deposits, bonds, repos etc
- Experience in explaining complex and technical accounting matters in straightforward terms to a range of stakeholders
- Thorough IFRS accounting knowledge, specifically in IAS 32, IAS 39, IFRS 7, IFRS 9 and IFRS 13
- Experience in financial systems change and report development processes
- Thorough understanding of business processes and controls and audit trail requirements
