As the Head of Facilities Management – a key strategic role within our Operational Services team at Unipart – you'll lead, develop, and connect your team of site Facilities Managers and the Facilities Management service to ensure scalability, continuous improvement, and service development. Setting the strategic direction to support the growth of our business, whilst maintaining margin and reducing overall service costs, will be a key factor in this role. Leading change you'll establish cost down initiatives through large scale FM procurement activity and secure budgeted savings across the FM network aligned to the value of services. Unipart strives to be the best so as well as supporting sector leads to drive continuous improvement, you'll pro–actively work with suppliers on current and future supply chain risks, mitigating and minimising risk. Your ability to absorb, analyse, and retain information will enable you to identify improvements across the business. Building relationships and partnerships across internal functions and our supplier base will go a long way to support a collaborative approach when integrated service delivery models are proposed or in operation. In your role you will support capability development and competencies to meet growth, support succession planning, and promote a strong and diverse FM team. Head of Global Facilities Management Responsibilities include:
- Lead and facilitate the FM Procurement processes, tendering, negotiation, contract review and award along with ongoing contract management
- Set the strategic directions for the FM leads and their teams to manage the supply base against an agreed plan, based on process improvement, service delivery and cost down for all business units and Unipart
- Reduce business risk and increase overall FM account performance through the promotion and utilisation of FM best practices, processes and operational excellence initiatives
- Review and understand in detail supplier contracts, working closely with the Legal team to ensure risks to UL and its clients are minimised/mitigated
- Establish cost down initiatives and secure budgeted savings across FM Global network aligned to the value of services – circa 75 million including overhead and operating costs
- Deliver Supplier rationalisation programme across global network and ensure Ten to Zero (TTZ)N methodology is applied across multiple services and key providers
- Build a strong team of FM sector leaders who can execute the FM strategy and operations within their area and client group
- Support the profitable growth of the FM service line through participation and leadership in new business pursuits, contract renewals, and service expansions
- Ensure that Sector updates and communication are timely and accurate and that accounting is transparent
- Ability to manage all aspects of our FM Division including driving growth, health and safety obligations and legal compliance, whilst complying with company processes and procedures
- You're an experienced leader used to managing and coaching in the FM industry, from a contractor background to running multiple supplier service accounts
- Excellent problem solver who can build successful partnerships and lead high impact projects
- High standard of both technical and commercial acumen
- Ability to manage information and analyse processes in order to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- You will need to be a strong communicator and used to working closely with senior colleagues
- Experience of managing KPI's, SLA's and working with CAFM systems
- Able to think strategically to identify potential innovations that drive cost transformation
- Experience of leading FM change and strategic change cost down programmes through large scale FM procurement activity
- To have CIPS or equivalent qualifications in Purchasing and Supply .
