Senior Programme Manager

Our client has ambitious growth plans and as a result are looking to expand their manufacturing footprint by transferring their local manufacturing operation to a new factory. They are looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager to lead this programme, working cross–functionally to ensure that the new facility becomes operational within specified timescales and to budget.

Niche manufacturing organisation, based near Liverpool in the North West. This role will require c4 days a week on site.

Description

Whilst this is a role focused on "operationalising" a new factory, my client is not looking to recruit a Construction/Facilities Programme Manager. They are looking to recruit a "business–facing" Senior Programme Manager who can coordinate activities across a number of workstreams, including: Procurement, Sourcing, Utilities, Logistics, Technology, People, Engineering etc. to ensure that all business requirements for the new facility are understood and factored in to the overarching programme plan. This is likely to be an 18+ month fixed term contract.

This individual will be expected to manage all risks and issues and will coordinate change management and communications activity (but will not run this). It would be desirable for the Senior Programme manager to have a background in Engineering and/or estates transformation.

The Senior Programme Manager will report directly to the COO and will be responsible for the successful delivery of the programme. They will work cross–functionally with both internal stakeholders and external 3rd parties, managing resources, delivering timely reporting and coordinating and supervising all activities to ensure that the programme is delivered on time and to budget. They will also be responsible for providing the Executive team and other stakeholders with regular reports and updates on any risks and issues.

In addition, the Senior Programme Manager will lead on the design of both the new factory and back–office/corporate layout/fit out, ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives of the company.

Profile

To be successful in your application, you must have the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience of working within industrial manufacturing with an understanding of process industries and the surrounding regulatory environment;
• Ideally you will have an Engineering or Manufacturing technical background;
• Experience of delivering Transformation and the associated change management required to land high profile and complex programmes;
• Direct experience of chemicals would be an advantage;
• In–depth knowledge of programme and project management methods and principles;
• Proficiency in various programme management software, including MS office, MS project and Basecamp.
• Ability to manage a cross–functional team of SME's;
• Excellent stakeholder engagement at all levels;
• Experience of managing 3rd parties;
• Business Risk Management – Identifying and managing all key business risks;
• Experience of business requirements gathering and process improvement.
