Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Renewable EnergyOur client is a renewable energy organisation that is undergoing rapid growth. It aims to help facilitate the energy transition demands of the UK and EU by developing and investing into large–scale solar and battery storage projects.As the business expands, we seek a Chief Technology Officer, reporting directly to the Board. The CTO will be instrumental in shaping and delivering the high growth technology strategy of the Group.Job PurposeThis is a Commercial leadership role overseeing suppliers and departmental budgets. Liaising and working closely with Head of Information systems to devise and develop technology strategy. Leading on building a technology development team and to own and deliver the continuing evolution of the company's enterprise systems and suite of tools. This role will also have responsibility for ensuring the continually evolving information and communication systems infrastructure and cloud SASS and Data solutions are fit for purpose.Responsibilities

• Lead the company's in–house technology development plans
• Build and manage a delivery and support team
• Foster innovation throughout the business
• Manage budget, stakeholders, suppliers, competitive tenders
• Own our suite of in–house products
• Designing / managing software testing processes
• Negotiation of vendor supply / service agreements, SLAs, contract review etc
• Preparation of system / software specifications, maintenance and monitoring of service agreements according to scope
• Project and programme management accordingly to Prince2 or similar methodology
• Management of service delivery according to ITIL methodology
• Implementation of security systems and industrial best practice financial systems, excel, VBA, coding etc
• Managing/overseeing server, desktop, networking, SASS support

About you

• A natural, passionate and energetic technology leader with great management skills
• Experience of software product development, hardware selection, data strategies, problem solving, support provision
• Meticulous attention to detail, process and quality assurance
• Excellent communicator and creator of presentation materials to board
• Appreciation or experience in energy trading, renewable asset monitoring and SCADA control systems
• Understanding or experience of HV local distribution or transmission network systems
• Experience managing/overseeing server, desktop, networking, SASS support.
• Ideally previous experience as an architect
