AV Placements are delighted to be recruiting for a Director of Component Reliability and Engineering for our client who is an independent provider of aviation services to commercial and government customers worldwide. Our aftermarket expertise and award–winning solutions help customers increase efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining high levels of quality, service and safety.

The Director of Component Reliability and Engineering is responsible for managing the Technical and Reliability department. The successful candidate will undertake technical support, reliability reporting, configuration management and Compliance, Technical and Reliability services on behalf of the Integrated Services Commercial team.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to);

  • Oversight and coordination of a global team of Reliability Engineers
  • Relationship management of customers' engineering departments, including the organisation of periodic reliability reviews and the review of engineering contractual KPI's
  • A full reliability and engineering service that provides statistical analysis on demand, identification of rogue unit performance analysis, allowing quick remedial action Ongoing AD/SB reviews and implementation
  • Technical assessments of inventory reference mod status, applicability to fleet and recommended operator stock holdings to maximise cost benefits
  • Details review and works scope recommendation to repair shops to improve reliability.
  • Resolving Technical Dispute or Technical related financial queried
  • Technical support to the BD, repair and AOG team.
  • AD & SB managements/review for components, contract and Customer support.
  • Root cause analysis on high demand/removal contracts and actions.

In addition, people management responsibilities include performance management; working with the team to develop, monitor and review performance, monitoring employee's health and well–being issues and providing supportive leadership via motivating and supporting, coaching and mentoring when and where required.

You will possess great analytical skills with the ability to break down information by spotting patterns, interpreting data and considering new information to make educated decisions / conclusions to conjure ideas that will both cope with changing environments and consider the various challenges. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker who is able to effectively prepare strategies and that lie ahead. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to delegate effectively.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK.
