Senior Project Manager

About this Role:

Experienced Senior Project Manager required by the South Coast office of this busy main contractor to take the lead role on a 40m new build residential scheme in Bournemouth, Dorset.

The project has undergone a period of preconstruction to date, which will continue for a while longer with work due to commence on site later this year – the project comprises demolition of existing buildings and new build construction of 4 x multi–storey RC framed blocks.

Thereafter, scope of work for this main contractor will include projects up to 40m in value in the education, healthcare, commercial, and leisure sectors in the Hampshire and Dorset areas.

As Senior Project Manager within the business, you will be responsible for the delivery of the larger schemes that the region undertakes. Reporting to the visiting Operations Director, you will be responsible for managing the projects through preconstruction stages through to start on site and then construction though to handover. You will lead your team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, and financial control of the project throughout, plus safety and quality control.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The client is the busy regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of 90m, with secured workload in the education, commercial, healthcare, local authority sectors in the Dorset and Hampshire areas.

Projects range in size from 15m to 40m, secured through a mixture of national and regional frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients, competitive tenders, and work for the investment arm of the business. There is a good pipeline of future work well into 2022

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will ideally be an experienced Senior Project Manager or Director with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to 35m+ in value. Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
