Financial Controller - PE Backed SME

Group Financial Controller

Based: North Manchester

Salary: circa 70k dependent on experience + bonus + benefits

I am exclusively partnering with a PE backed, award winning and UK market leading business based in North Manchester. An exciting company offering great progression, PE exposure and the chance to work with an impressive CFO, we are looking for a strong Financial Controller with proven management experience to lead the team and work with the CFO in a broader business capacity

Role:

• Managing the group finance function with 3 direct reports and indirect team of 12–15 in finance
• Group month end – holding review meetings with finance prior to CFO review including review of EBITDA, Balance Sheet and cash flow forecast
• Leading monthly review meeting with the CFO presenting financial performance of the business
• Group budgeting and forecasting – leading the team to produce rolling 3 month EBITDA forecast on a weekly basis ensuring EBITDA, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts are updated based on business assumptions and reporting for the board pack
• Liaising with FP&A to ensure financial model is suitable for business and adapting to changes
• Leading and managing group audit process, being senior POC for year end auditors, ensuring year end accounts for all entities are signed in line with the deadline
• Cash management – detailed daily cash flow forecast across UK and US businesses
• Managing banking platform and assisting CFO with banking relationships
• Group compliance – ensuring all UK and US tax reporting is accurate and submitted
• Assisting CFO in PE projects spanning the next 12–18 months alongside designing and implementing internal controls
• Constantly reviewing & analysing systems and processes to understand where efficiency gains could be made – implementing and adapting to change
• Ensuring intercompany accounting is accurate and reconciled monthly
• Producing value added analysis and commentary to the CFO and leading on ad–hoc projects

Experience:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified essential with post qualified experience
• Proven leader, experience of managing and leading a team in finance
• Strong commercial & financial understanding from within an SME environment
• Involvement within a Private Equity backed business would be highly desirable & beneficial
• Strong organisational and time management experience is essential
