People Business Partner – 14 Month fixed term contract – Canary Wharf

Hours: 40 per week, 08.30am – 17.30pm Monday to Friday

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to develop commercial awareness that drives the need for an agile workforce to anticipate change and drive strategic solutions to develop, engage and retain our top talent.
  • Understanding the business and external context; being able to design and deliver sustainable solutions which will drive business performance focused specifically on reward, performance, retention and engagement including strategic workforce planning, talent mapping succession planning, and a performance and reward framework across the UK & Ireland.
  • Coaching and supporting managers to ensure they understand the importance of identifying, developing, engaging and retaining the best talent.
  • Deliver workflow efficiencies and team governance through continuous monitoring and evaluation of our people processes through our internal audit programme across the UK & Ireland.
  • Begin the conduit between the business and the People team, ensuring a seamless consistent and first–class HR service delivery, turning business challenges and needs into solutions.
  • Managing and mitigating commercial and reputational risk throughout the business by providing pragmatic advice and management of a small but complex ER caseload, including Employment Tribunals and the execution of workforce contractions and restructure programmes.
  • Be a champion for organisational change, and manage change initiatives with minimal operational risk to the business.
  • Use management information and people analytics to identify trends and align with managers to address areas of concern and performance to drive high–performance working teams.
  • Use data and insight to create recommendations for innovation and change while remaining commercially savvy influence, challenge, and gain buy–in to decision making and evaluate solutions.

Skills & experience

  • Full generalist HR experience and knowledge
  • Commercial awareness to anticipate change and drive strategic solutions
  • Significant experience working in fast–paced, agile and high–performance teams and driving innovative solutions
  • Ability to translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple and adaptable to changing business needs
  • Ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking–skills, and drive appropriate solutions with self–initiative
  • Able to work autonomously, as well as being a role model for the People team and partner effectively with stakeholders across the business
  • Excellent working knowledge of legislation and the practical application of the law in terms of policies in a commercial environment
  • Excellent understanding of HR practices, procedures and strong technical skills, particularly in relation to employment law and policy development
  • Strong problem–solving skills with a passion for dealing with open–ended, even ambiguous challenges
  • An empathetic approach this role partners our people and we should put them at the forefront when working through people–related matters
  • Level 5 CIPD or equivalent.
