Litigation Lawyer sought for a leading law firm on 3 months rolling contract basis to work at one of their offices either in Cambridgeshire or Northamptonshire or Bedfordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor, a legal executive, or a senior paralegal with experience in civil and criminal litigation to join our client s bespoke firm. The successful candidate will be handling a varied caseload whilst providing superb client care at all times. This role is hybrid or office based, depending on your preference.

Lawyer / Senior Lawyer – Responsibilities

Undertaking advocacy at courts and tribunals

Supervising junior members of the litigation team

Attending client meetings

Providing legal advice

Represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties

Deputising for the Principal Litigation Lawyer where required

Senior Lawyer – The Candidate

Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 10 years PQE

Extensive experience of advising on, preparing and presenting civil and criminal litigation cases (contentious and non–contentious)

Experience of successfully defending judicial review proceedings

Ability to conduct legal research

A strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex matters in a clear manner

Works well as part of a team but equally comfortable working on your own initiative

Strives for high standards in their work

Highly organised with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines

Commercially aware

Great attention to detail

Lawyer – The Candidate

Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 2 years PQE

Proficient in advising on, preparing and presenting civil and criminal litigation cases (contentious and non–contentious)

Advocacy experience

A strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex matters in a clear manner

Works well as part of a team but equally comfortable working on your own initiative

Strives for high standards in their work

Highly organised with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines

Commercially aware

Great attention to detail

Principal Paralegal Responsibilities

Assisting a team of Lawyers in the provision of a legal service regarding insurance claims and civil litigation (taking instructions and giving advice, carrying out research, preparing applications, drafting documents and correspondence, commissioning and instructing expert witnesses, liaising with witnesses, attending meetings and providing advice and representation in courts or tribunals)

Advising upon and conducting matters on behalf of clients

Managing a caseload of mainly insurance litigation and civil litigation matters

Managing and leading a team of paralegals

Principal Paralegal The Candidate

Paralegals or legal officers with at least 2 years of experience gained at a legal practice

Understanding of the local government legal framework with reference to insurance matters and civil litigation

Experience of speaking in public

A strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex matters in a clear manner

Works well as part of a team but equally comfortable working on your own initiative

Strives for high standards in their work

Highly organised with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines

Commercially aware
