Legal Counsel | Leading Insurance Provider | Bexhill-On-Sea | £55,000.00 - £65,000.00 per annum

A rare opening within a highly sought-after leading insurance provider with a customer base of over 3 million and over 3000 employees, for a new Legal Counsel to join their team.

The Role:

The organisation is looking for a Legal Counsel to support the Chief Legal Officer in all areas of the legal department's duties and responsibilities.

A fast-growing, agile and data-driven organisation offering a range of competitive products and services, your role will see you:

• Developing a good understanding of the business and key stakeholders' contacts.
• Providing accurate and timely advice to the business on a variety of legal areas.
• Drafting, amending, advising, and negotiating on a variety of bespoke and standard form commercial contracts including data and software.
• Understanding, interpreting, and advising contract owners on the implications of contract terms and developing an awareness of contract terms and obligations within the business including by the delivery of training.
• Reviewing, advising and amending insurance policy terms and online customer journey changes considering the requirements under UCTA for B2C contracts.
• Reviewing and amending Terms of Business Agreements with insurance partners and ancillary product suppliers.

Requirements:

• UK qualified solicitor with 4+ years PQE.
• Solid commercial experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with exposure to software contracts being beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to demonstrate a proactive and commercial approach in identifying solutions and mitigating risk in a manner which supports business objectives.
• In-house legal experience is beneficial but not essential.
