Location: Glasgow City Centre, G2 4HG
Salary: Up to GBP60,000 Per annum based on experience plus performance related bonus, up to 20% of basic salary. We will also offer a c lear path to Finance Director role for the right individual.

About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded financial controller to join the team to assist with an ever–growing portfolio. This is a great opportunity for the right person to work in a fast–paced environment, assisting with the overall strategy of the business.

The right candidate must have excellent analytical, numerical, and problem–solving skills and be able to work to tight but realistic deadlines.

Responsibilities

The Financial Controller will be responsible for:

• Managing all day–to–day accounting operations
• Supporting the Managing Director by creating and developing a robust financial strategy
• Supervising and managing a team of two Assistant Accountants
• Managing the monthly close of all group companies within an agreed timeframe, whilst ensuring all legislation and accounting standards are adhered to
• Driving the financial strategy of the business while critically engaging with other members of the management team to streamline processes and further develop income streams
• Managing the preparation of the annual financial statements (all trading companies registered in the Isle of Man meaning no requirement for an annual audit). Annual financial statements must however be available on demand, if requested by IoM financial conduct authority
• Updating and developing the three–year rolling forecast to keep the investors fully appraised of changes to both projected EBITDA and cash positions
• Coordinating and managing preparation of the annual budget
• Providing clear and concise commentary to non–finance managers at monthly board meetings
• Carrying out a comprehensive review and upgrade of all financial controls to include bank account access & approval, effective use of Sage Paperless invoice scanning and approval process, and an improved reconciliation process for supplier statements
• Ensuring all IoM and mainland UK tax filing deadlines are a met.
• Preparing reports which identify results, trends, and forecasts
• Being responsible for financial risk management, working collaboratively with other members of the management team to create risk minimisation plans
• Proactively seeking out potential areas for improvement in the company's financial systems
• Other ad hoc projects as required

Experience/Character Traits Required:

• Minimum 5yrs PQE (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA)
• An outgoing personality and strong communication skills are essential in this role, historically finance has not been as visible or vocal as would be expected
• Successful candidate must be confident, have demonstrable management skills and be able to influence people at all levels
• Must be a driven and motivated individual
• Experience of Sage, ideally Sage 50 desirable, but not essential
