Our client is actively seeking a Business Development Manager to join their growing team in Whittlesey. The business is expanding its commercial operations in house and currently growing the team.

They are seeking a self–motivated person with excellent communication skills, capable of prospecting, nurturing & converting sales for their business, with prospective clients across the East Midlands.

The successful candidate will benefit from 1 on 1 training and mentoring, an attractive salary & commission structure alongside a fun and dynamic family–run working environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Working strategically, to help prospect and win high profile business accounts within the energy sector.
  • Meet with customers to seek out their full requirements and suggest services and strategies with customers as required.
  • Proactively working with business owners across the East Midlands and Peterborough areas, with a view to establishing an issue they face with their utilities.
  • Identifying and pursuing these opportunities through use of; Company database, Partnership Leads generated via marketing activities, Self–generated opportunities via existing customers.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and building rapport with our customers.
  • Working to monthly targets, planning own workload and managing their own diary for appointments.
  • Stay fully up to date with the marketplace and competitor products.
  • Attending team meetings when required to share best practice.
  • Working closely with the Commercial Manager to set future growth plans & targets for the business development team.
Experience Requirements
  • Experience within a B2B environment.
  • Experience in the energy / utilities sector
  • Self–motivated, target driven and works well within time constraints.
  • A willingness to learn new processes whilst identifying potential improvements.
  • A self–starter, not afraid to initiate conversations.
  • The confidence to take ownership of a customer problem, collaborating internally to design suitable solutions.
  • Strong time management skills and a high–level self–accountability.
Key Information
  • GBP35,000 annual salary
  • Uncapped monthly paid bonus & commission structure
