Location: London (hybrid working)
Contract: 12–18–Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Full time
Salary/Benefits: 300 – 600/day (Inside IR35)
Role Details – Project Manager
We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join a renowned organisation based in London on an 12–18–month Fixed Term Contract.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and providing successful management of high–profile projects to time, budget and quality standards. The Project Manager will ensure delivery of projects through partnership of both internal resources, delivery partners and third–party suppliers.
Key responsibilities of the Project Manager
Leads and manages the delivery of large–scale projects with significant complexity, involving sophisticated stakeholder management of internal networks and external partners, in a sensitive political environment
Ensures that the project deliverables and outcomes are aligned to relevant business strategy and needs
Manages an indirect matrix project delivery team, including internal staff, agency and contract workers in order to ensure successful delivery of project objectives, and leads delivery of certain work packages directly, as required
Leads and manages the PMO, undertaking detailed project planning (including scoping work packages and outputs, identifying key milestones and dependencies, highlighting and mitigating risks, managing cost controls etc), establishing and maintaining PPM tools (e.g. project plan, risk and issues registers, decision log) to facilitate monitoring and ensure delivery is on track
Establishes and manages an effective and responsive reporting programme that caters to the needs of different audiences
Establishes and manages an effective governance programme, including a senior stakeholder steering group, informing of progress, and influencing and driving senior level decision making in a timely manner
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the project Sponsor, suppliers' and contractors' project management teams as appropriate to facilitate the smooth running of the project
Manages budgets of 5m+ effectively within the organisation's financial management mechanisms, identifying and escalating cost risks
Monitors resource plan to ensure that the resource requirements for projects are communicated and agreed by relevant stakeholders
Key skills required of the Project Manager
Solid knowledge and understanding of project and programme management methodologies and project control tools and techniques
Strong knowledge and understanding of financial appraisal, project budgeting, procurement processes and contract management in a project management setting
Expert use of MS Project
