Partner Financial are working with an international advisory firm with a high profile and well–known client base and global reach. The business operates with an international remit and as such needs to provide cross border influence and professional expertise, in markets that are very established, high growth or developing.

The company have built a very high performing team with an inclusive and collegiate environment, but require the Financial Controller to help, coach, support and drive initiatives to align the global finance function with the aims and objectives of the business and its client base.

The position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is part of a wider more expansive team of professionals, the small finance team is predominantly based in central London with the majority of time being office based, with some finance professionals or outsourced finance functions in some of the other countries where there is a legal structure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading a team and preparing statutory financial statements for different entities across the business.
  • Supporting the annual budget process and working with budget holders to confirm numbers.
  • Ensuring the managements accounts are produced in a quality and timely manner.
  • Working closely with the team to review and improve operational finance processes and reporting cycles.
  • Training and mentoring members of the team.
  • Ensuring periodic tax filings are prepared and filed within the required timelines, as well as liaising with external auditors and professional advisors.
  • Working with the auditors to run an efficient and timely year end audit process.
  • Ensuring that the finance function delivers a full accounting service to the business, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll, HMRC.
  • Preparing periodic statutory accounting for various entities of the group across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate:

  • A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA).
  • A natural team player with well–developed interpersonal skills, able to promote good team working and co–operation.
  • Extensive working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • An inquisitive mind–set that continuously challenges and seeks process improvement.
  • Experience managing and developing a high performing team.
