The Organisation

Robert Walters are delighted to be representing an instantly recognisable manufacturing business based in Oldham in their search for a Financial Controller. The organization are part of a highly profitable group and due to increased volumes of work require their back office finance function to be bolstered. Reporting directly into the FD this role will have exposure to the whole of the executive team and will play a critical part in the future direction of the organization. With a number of exciting projects commencing in 2023 there genuinely is no better time to join this organization.

The Role

Once in role the successful candidate will have responsibility for the day to day running of the finance division and provide strategic insight to the executive team. Specific tasks include:

  • Ownership of all monthly / quarterly / half and year end reporting requirements

  • Delivery of all forecasting, budgeting and strategic plans

  • Delivery of strategic and operational data to assist with business planning and the continued growth of the business

  • Partner with stakeholders across the business (specifically operations and sales) to drive efficiency's, improvements and consequently higher levels of profitability

  • Deliver commercial recommendations to the executive team and implement analysis based investment decisions across the group

  • Implement an improved analytical and modelling framework that can be rolled out across finance

  • Delivery of improved financial management information across the group (including the monthly board pack)

  • Ownership of all costing processes across the group

  • Drive change across the existing financial control framework and implement improved financial processes

  • Delivery of an improved risk framework focusing on new contracts, acquisitions and disposals

  • Management of a direct team of 4 and the wider finance division

The Person

Candidates wishing to apply for this role will be a CCAB qualified accountant and will ideally have previous manufacturing and costing experience within a growing organisation. The individual must have solid technical experience and the drive to progress their career through an organisation that has limitless possibilities. The candidate will be well versed in liaising with a range of finance and non finance stakeholders and have the ability to deliver value add information in a simplified format. As part of the senior leadership team the candidate will have demonstrated the ability to take on and deliver projects of high commercial value.
