Position – Head of Commercial

With every engineering project there s a new and exciting challenge, as Head of Commercial you ll work alongside my clients diverse and talented team to provide strategic commercial and contractual support, enabling the project teams to deliver customer requirements whilst maximising profitability and minimising risk.

Responsibilities – Head of Commercial

  • Work closely with and manage key stakeholders to deliver profitable solutions ensuring that commercial risks are highlighted, mitigated and governance is followed.
  • Work alongside project teams to develop and maintain commercial and contractual awareness of all projects.
  • Review proposed terms and conditions, contract setup and contract negotiation for new prospects/contracts
  • Provide contractual, and commercial advice to all departments
  • Provide strategic reporting of project status and commercial risk registers on a monthly basis for the CFO.
  • Working with project teams, help manage programme and/or commercial issues and risks to ensure Liquidated Damages or other liabilities are not levied.
  • Provide project governance to ensure project teams are working in accordance with client terms & Conditions and with company policies and procedures.

Experience/Skills Required

  • To be successful in the role you will have a high level of commercial knowledge and can communicate effectively, leading internal and external stakeholders in commercial matters.
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of NEC Contracts preferred
  • Proven negotiation & contract management skills/knowledge
  • Able to effectively communicate with senior managers and negotiate with external clients/suppliers
  • Experience of working in a senior commercial and/or project management role in a fast moving, multi–project environment
  • Experience of managing clients and suppliers
