Business Development Manager

Worcester – Worcestershire

Monday–Friday –Full–Time

Up to GBP55,000 per annum

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a leading civil engineering company. The role is focused on driving profitability through developing both existing accounts and winning new clients.

The role:

  • Securing future tender opportunities with target clients of strategic importance and generating business in key target sectors
  • Work with Senior Management to produce a strategic business plan that will research these sectors, identify key drivers within them, create a client target list and execute this plan
  • Deliver against and report on financial targets –success will be the value of tender opportunity generated for the business
  • Prospecting within market/geographic area to maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Identifying potential clients and decision makers, and building relationships with new clients
  • Develop the company's USPs and differentiators
  • Conducting business reviews to ensure client satisfaction and informing clients of other services the business offers
  • Attending progress and tender review meetings and resolving areas of concern
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure client needs are fulfilled effectively
  • Liaison with clients regarding marketing support, opportunities and community engagement throughout projects and produce appropriate PR and Communications Plan
  • Responsible for the overall qualitative input on PQQ's and tenders.
  • Reviewing, tracking, and responding to OJEU notices
  • Analysis of allocated PQQ and tender quality documents to establish responses required and allocate to relevant technical personnel, with appropriate deadlines
  • Manage and collate PQQ and Bid responses, assembly and submission for both print and digital submissions
  • Ensuring Industry accreditations are up to date.

The person:

  • Experience in sales or business development
  • Able to work well both in a team and individually
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Construction/civil engineering experience ideal but not essential
