Senior & Commercial Counsels - FTSE 100

FTSE 100 Energy business at the forefront of new energy initiatives and renewables is going through significant growth and as a result seeking to recruit a number of Commercial Solicitors and Senior Commercial Solicitors with strong experience in commercial contracts. Positions can be full or part-time.

Responsibilities:

• Working as part of a growing, ambitious, friendly, experienced Group Corporate legal team that prides itself on the quality of its work and its collaborative team ethos
• You will work closely with the Group Senior Leadership Team, Senior Executive Committee and Group General Counsel assisting with delivering the Group's strategic goals
• Negotiating and drafting commercial contracts relating to critical assets and infrastructure which cover all areas of the Group's operations
• Working closely with group procurement advising and drafting documentation
• Overseeing corporate governance and best practice in a broad range of areas, including regulatory compliance and group initiatives
• The opportunity if desired to get involved in JV and M&A activity

We are looking for:

• Qualified solicitors who have trained with a well-regarded law firm or in-house
• Strong experience in commercial contracts. This could be from a similar sector or transferable skills from a different sector. Preferably working with or in a large corporate or highly regulated environment. More important is the desire to work in areas like renewables and broader energy
• Exposure to projects work would be a benefit, as would experience of regulated procurement processes
• The ability to work independently and lead on your own matters, influence key stakeholders, manage external counsel and budgets on large projects with confidence
• Team player able to work collaboratively
