Interim Finance Manager - Schools and Education

I am recruiting an experienced interim for one of my key Local Authority clients – the role is an interim Finance Manager for Schools and Education for a 6 month period initially.

You will be required to support the directorate to simplify businesses processes as well as completing value–added work, especially the financial management of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) and working with the local Schools Forum.

Supporting the Head of Finance, you will provide robust financial advice resolving issues, delivering the annual financial cycle for both the general fund and for the DSG, and developing in–depth knowledge of your service areas managers around their financial processes including budget setting, monthly advances, monitoring and banking issues.

This role is also the key link between schools and the Local Authority, supporting headteachers and school business managers on streamlining budget monitoring and supporting wider transformation plans.

Reviewing option appraisals around various projects, you'll be commercially sharp and technically capable with strong communication and people skills.

Prior experience of the financial management of the Dedicated Schools Grant and working with Schools Forum is essential and you will be familiar with providing high–level financial advice around DSG.
