Associate Technical Director – Drainage

My client's rail team is involved in some of the UK's most high profile, complex and stimulating projects. With an enviable reputation and fantastic relationships with contractors and end clients, joining would be a great career move.
The team undertake all aspects of drainage design including surface, foul and trade effluent systems through all stages from project need through to construction stage support. They also guide clients as required in relation to obtaining the relevant licencing/ permits. Current scheme types include track drainage, maintenance depots, new and refurbished stations, earthworks drainage and highway drainage.
The Rail Drainage team is based in Birmingham, Manchester and Warrington and works with offices throughout the UK and around the world using the latest technology to provide complete drainage design solutions that include drawings, calculations and reports.
We are seeking to locate an Associate Technical Director who has wide experience in the design of infrastructure and drainage solutions for development, highways or rail projects. The role provides a variety of interesting projects, opportunities for career progression and will combine technical delivery and deliverables management with hands–on design work.
Project management duties will include co–ordination of a wide range of discipline inputs, client liaison, planning and programming, commercial management and presenting projects for audit.
You will be technically competent in fundamental design principles and possess the ability to apply manual calculation methods where required.
As an Associate Technical Director, you will hold a Civil Engineering degree and hold Chartered status. You design experience will include Network Rail, SUDS, Sewer Sector Guidance and DMRB standards for drainage design. You will have a solid knowledge of hydraulic design principles and overland flow.
My client uses Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads, Bentley OpenRail, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil Storm, AutoCAD and Civils3D including integration with BIM models.
