An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Economic Development Service on an interim basis as the council moves towards an Inclusive Economy Strategy.

About the Role

Are you an Economic Development professional with experience of working at a head of service level across the broad economic development landscape? Do you have experience developing and delivering corporate and service strategies? Can you identify and deliver opportunities for transformation and service improvements?If this sounds like you, then you could be who we are looking for to jointly own and drive the delivery of our Inclusive Economic Delivery Strategy, working with the Assistant Director and other Heads of Service.You could be who we need to advise on service delivery models including options for delivery and a funding strategy to take the service forward and make sure it is best placed to meet the financial challenges facing the authority.The council continues to support businesses as they recover from the pandemic and as they face the current cost of living challenges. You will lead, coordinate and ensure the successful delivery of multiple projects and workstreams across the team, including projects under the Good Economy Delivery Plan and High Streets Recovery Action Plan, a Creative Enterprise Zone and a programme of workspace policy and delivery.As part of the Regeneration and Economic Development Senior Management Team, you will work closely with the Assistant Director, other Heads of Service and the lead Cabinet Member(s) to deliver corporate and programme objectives.
