My client is a leading and highly acclaimed intellectual property firm, which dominates across numerous sectors such as biotechnology, electronics, engineering, and pharmaceuticals. With offices across the UK and Europe, their esteemed teams of IP professionals work closely and collaboratively with their prestigious international clientele with whom the firm have built close and lasting relationships with.

Due to continued success, they are now seeking a Trade Mark Solicitor to join their elite team of IP experts within an Associate position.

About the Role

This exciting and important role will require you to advise and serve clients on all matters relating to:
  • Trade mark registration, protection, and enforcement
  • Designs and copyright law
  • Filing and processing before the UKIPO and WIPO
  • Business development
  • Collaborative working
  • Person Specification
You will be researching trademarks in order to advise on their availability, as well as creating contracts and overseeing the process of registering trademarks, managing and protecting both trade marks and designs after they have been registered, and handling the violation of intellectual property rights by preparing and sending cease and desist letters.

You will also be working alongside international associates in order to prosecute international trademark applications.

Other important duties within the role include managing and maintaining client relationships, building your network of fellow Associates internationally, and providing some training to the firm's employees.

About You

The firm are seeking an England & Wales/Europe-qualified Trade Mark Attorney, E&W Solicitor, or Barrister for this role. The candidate must show excellent academics alongside 2 - 4 years' PQE.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Be an enthusiastic professional who works well working within a passionate and energetic IP team, as well as independently
  • Have excellent communication and time management skills, as well as interpersonal skills for working alongside clients and colleagues
  • Possess good business awareness, as this is essential in order to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Have previous experience in soft IP (this is essential)
