FMCG or food industry experience essential for this assignment – flexibility offered around days on site – hybrid role.

A senior level role heading up the HSE agenda for a manufacturer with a deadline driven product category supplying the major UK retailers. This role needs someone with previous experience in a leadership role and the communication skills to keep HSE top of the agenda at every level in the structure.

A well invested site with a mixture of new and old kit, this interim contract needs an HSE expert who can head up the team and be a presence in the factory. Due to the complexity, pace and product range, FMCG manufacturing or food industry experience is essential.

Within this complex food manufacturer site there is the scope to drive improvements and fresh eyes can always look at things differently. HSE is in a good place and the wider HSE team in the organisation are a source to tap into when required.

The site has a strong track record with its customers enabling it to continue to grow the product range and processes.

The role will involve:

• Driving the site SHE strategy.
• Coaching, educating and guiding the senior team and managers to adopt the correct behaviours to ensure optimum safety adherence on site.
• Executing improvement projects.
• Maintaining and continuously reviewing robust systems and procedures.
• Ensuring the site maintains the HSE standards and full compliance required by the overall organisation.
• Demonstrate effective risk profiling and compliance in line with all relevant HSE legislation.
• Conduct root cause analysis drawing on previous investigative skills on all significant issues.
• Complete all follow up action plans and organise a full audit schedule.
• Develop the site safety budget.
• Be the expert, the go to individual on site. Approachable and accountable for all HSE matters.

About you

Your previous background, education and experience will include:

• Extensive experience in Safety, Health and Environment management in manufacturing.
• NEBOSH qualified.
• Proven ability to drive and deliver safety improvement schedules.
• Significant experience in FMCG or food industry.
• Positive engagement and effective influencing skills proven in previous roles.
• Ability to work autonomously in complex environments.
