Head of Financial Planning

An interesting new opportunity has arisen at a NHS Trust for an experienced financial planning accountant to join the team.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the post holder will take a lead on financial planning, including completion of finance and workforce returns, and the update of financial models. Working closely with the Head of Financial Management in there will be work on business case assurance and cost improvement and efficiency plans. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organisation achieves its strategic aims and meets its statutory financial responsibilities. Internally, it will be a very visible role, which will need to deliver highly credible senior management support and influence key decision makers.

The successful candidate should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with in depth knowledge of NHS financial procedures and the financial aspects of health policies. You are likely to have a broad background in financial management within another NHS organisation where you will have been working at a senior management level. Exposure to financial planning and developing business cases will also be important. Critical to this position will be first rate communication skills and the ability to rapidly form effective working relationships.
