Head of Service Management, Interim, ServiceNow, ITILYour new companyInterim Head of Service Management required for this leading Higher Education institute until a permanent appointment has been made.Your new roleYou will be responsible for building out and leading our clients Service Management team (Process & Quality (ITIL functions Operations, and Service catalogue; Service Delivery; and our Supplier, Contract, Licensing and Asset team), enabling a culture of customer service excellence across your service area and more widely across IT. You will take a key role in the continued development of the service offering, enabling a culture of continuous service improvement and input into the implementation of the IT strategy.You will represent IT at a University level, and externally in both Higher Education and IT Sectors, collaborating with wide range of stakeholders to articulate targets and strategies to support the University's strategic plan.What you'll need to succeed
- Significant experience in a leadership role delivering Service Management in large and complex organisations with an understanding of service management methodologies, tools, and techniques such as ITIL and Agile with either qualifications or demonstrable real–world experience;
- Ability to articulate the cloud vision and underpinning principles; understanding and articulation of the benefits of cloud adoption, as well as the attendant challenges and risks;
- Demonstrable experience cultural change when delivering IT Service Management practices into an organisation;
- A proven track record as a values–based leader, able to engage teams and inspire a strong customer focus, to deliver a proactive, agile and responsive service;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, building and maintaining close collaborative working relationships;
- Experience of liaising with, contracting and managing third party resources as part of delivering efficient, cost–effective services;
- Relevant skills and experience for leading and managing large and complex teams, including those undergoing and supporting change at an organisational and business process level;
- A commitment to the continuous professional development for yourself and your teams with the experience of coaching and mentoring staff at all levels;
- Experience of leading by example and visibly support and uphold the University of Leeds Values and behaviours
You may also have:
- Previous experience leading an extensive service transformation would be a
distinct advantage;
- Good project management skills.
