Commercial Director– The Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client a privately owned Recycling & Waste Management Company for a Commercial Director to head up the Commercial side of the Business and to join their existing board of directors situated on outskirts of Sittingbourne in Kent . With this role you will work with the board to direct all commercial aspects of the business and achieve anticipated growth levels, exceeding budgets leading an already established and successful Commercial team to the next level within a rapidly expanding business.
The Candidate
Ideally this role would be suited to a Commercial Manger / Director who resides in Kent ideally from the Waste Management Sector or from an industry where skills would be transferable. The right candidate for this role will already have had a successful career to date, be looking for a Senior Role that offers both progression and the opportunity to further develop an already established and successful career with a proven track record in managing sales teams . Reporting into the MD of a privately owned business with strong resourceful will allow for quick and effective response for the right candidate for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Aligned to the Sales & Marketing Strategy, develop, and grow a portfolio of accounts, increasing revenue, improving earnings and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
- Direct the commercial team through a group of managers.
- Develop and implement an effective marketing plan.
- Develop and maintain key relationships, following a strong contact strategy programme.
- Plan and prioritise sales activities towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales.
- Manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed aims.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information for the Board.
- Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
- Attend external customer meetings and give presentations where necessary.
- Implement effective sales activity reporting including the use of CRM software. Present such reports to the board as required.
- Attend board meetings and other meetings necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.
