JOB SPECIFICATION – Divisional HR Director

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the achievement of organisational objectives by partnering with key stakeholders within allocated area of responsibility. Providing expert HR leadership and service to develop and instil best practice people management initiatives across the business. Supporting the CEO and Group HR Director to achieve the People Plan by acting as HR lead on a range of projects and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide a professional and strategic consultancy and advisory service to allocated area of responsibility
Partner with allocated business division to provide innovate HR solutions that are tailored to meet the individual needs of the business
Implement continuous improvement HR management strategies
Identify and implement opportunities to improve client engagement
Manage, coach and support HR advisors/HR apprentices to ensure effective employee relations
Support management with complex employee relations cases, leading from an HR perspective
Undertake the development, review and implementation of people policies, practices and procedures that optimise productivity, adaptability and conformance to legal requirements
Analyse and distribute HR data and provide insights to business division that inform workforce planning and reporting
Contribute to the achievement of team and organisational objectives
Act as 'change agent' in managing organisational change, including managing TUPE processes
Promote and manage staff wellness activities and initiatives, acting as welfare champion to ensure a supported and productive workforce
Drive and deliver HR initiatives to support business needs, such as talent development, employee engagement, management development, and organisational change
Work in partnership with the operational management teams to identify opportunities and areas of improvement to support improved organisational and people performance in line with business needs
Guide and coach managers on employee relations and HR issues in line with business policies and best practice, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, redundancy, and absence management.
Deliver training to the wider business, identifying development needs and contributing to a continuous learning environment
Research and recommend best practice approaches to people management
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices
Champion and embed organisation culture
Understanding of Employment law, tribunals and union activity.
Monitor employee records, ensuring compliance with Right to Work legislation
Leading colleague engagement initiatives and activities in area of responsibility
Any other duties as reasonably directed by management.

Qualifications and Skills

Demonstrable experience in a similar role (ideally within facilities management).
CIPD qualified or desire to work towards
Excellent communication skills
Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships
Subject–matter specialist, with a commitment to continued professional development
IT literate with programmes such as Word, Excel etc.
A proactive approach and an excellent eye for detail, methodical, organised, and able to work autonomously
Self–motivated, confident and an engaging approachable manner with a 'can do' flexible attitude to work requirements
Team player and able to motivate others
