Excellent opportunity to join a well–established charity in a senior role This role will suit someone who is happy being a key member of the exec team About Our Client Flint House Police Rehabilitation was founded in 1890, the charity exists to provide the highest standard of individually planned, intensive, rehabilitation services for sick and injured police officers. In 1988 the charity moved to the picturesque grounds of Flint House, just outside Goring, the Centre is able to provide physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, stress counselling and health education treatment to up to 150 officers each week. With recent renovations to their hydrotherapy centre, accommodation and surrounding grounds the charity is in a very exciting period of expansion and growth. Job Description The key responsibilities of the Head of Finance will be: To work with the Executive Team to develop the finance strategies for Flint House. Develop policies and procedures to enact this strategy ensuring that these are communicated to all appropriate parties. To identify the key cost and investment drivers for department budget holders. To support with commercial insight, governance and analysis for Flint House to be able to plan and invest in order to help with delivery of Charity objectives. To support budget holders and fundraisers with analysis and insight for funding propositions to drive return on investment and identify the most appropriate funding opportunities for delivery on business needs, contractual obligations and objectives. To support budget holders to provide commercial and technical advice around financial controls and budget management. To engage with budget holders regularly to maintain and understand operating actives and performance against contracts. To identify any accruals, prepayments or provisions and ensure these are reflected promptly in the ledgers. To report on all revenue streams within the Charity and work with the Executive team and operational teams to analyse and optimise revenue against delivery and investment activity. To manage all charity finances in line with all legal statutory regulations, producing monthly management accounts and presenting these to the Board of Trustees. To monitor and advise on expenditure on capital budgets in line with the budget. To monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulatory environment and taking appropriate action, advising Trustees and Executive team of the legal governance, accounting and tax implications. To prepare and produce statutory accounts. To lead and liaise with external Auditors, tax advisors, HMRC, insurance brokers, pension brokers, bank etc. To deal with technical finance issues, tax recovery etc. To support with reviewing and analysing monthly payroll submissions and approval. To regularly review contracts with suppliers, utility providers ensuring best value for money. The Successful Applicant The successful candidate for the Head of Finance role will: Be Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Have Advanced Excel skills and the ability to develop financial models Be confident in presenting financial information to budget holders and non–finance colleagues Have experience in budgeting and forecasting Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be able to work autonomously to improve systems and processes where necessary What's on Offer Flint House Police Rehabilitation is offering a competitive salary range of GBP60,000 – GBP65,000 depending on experience. They also offer an employer's contributory pension of 5%, healthcare cashplan, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, free meals on–site and a on–site gym.
