Location – UK

The opportunity as an Account Director:
Reporting into our COO, the role of an Account Director will play a crucial part nurturing enterprise accounts from a company we have acquired, nurturing, developing them and transitioning them into our tech marketplace model. The AD will also have a vital role in revolutionising the way we frame our Contract Removals proposition. You will manage our key accounts in this area and have ultimate ownership of commercial and operational strategy.
You'll have the scope to bring change. We want to take these customers on a journey to improve the way they view logistics. You'll be able to professionalise existing services through the use of tech, and unlock our other B2B services to your client base.
All of this, underpinned by the mission of making Shift the go–to marketplace for all commercial logistics solutions.
Requirements
Responsibilities included as an Account Director:
- Account Management:
- Managing and maintaining long term relationships with our top 5 contract removal accounts such as furniture restoration and show home interior design businesses. Ranging up to GBP2 million turnover
- Growing revenue and contribution profit from the accounts and improving account development which will include negotiating pricing, additional services etc
- Build and implement strategic plans for growth, profitability, operational efficiency and client satisfaction
- Prepare account reports, using the data to identify any areas of improvements and sales opportunities within accounts
- Operations:
- Driving smooth operational performance for the designated accounts with a focus on key areas across, quality and efficiency
- Being the first point of contact to react quickly at resolving issues (small to large) and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions
- Work with operational and driver teams to ensure successful client delivery and adherence to SLAs
- Proactively analyse operational performance, risks and processes and execute improvements where necessary
- Projects:
- Leading and managing projects such as operational improvements or change management within the key accounts
- Working cross functionally with senior stakeholders at Shift to deliver projects
- Sales:
- Promoting and cross selling other Shift offerings
What you need to bring to the role:
- Experience working within a scale up business ideally within logistics industry, ideally within a tech driven business
- Held a successful role at a senior level as a Enterprise Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, or similar
- Strong track record of commercial responsibility for a number of large accounts
- Leadership. You will need to foster new ideas and inspire others around you to think the same
- Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
- Experience delivering client–focused solutions to meet customer needs
- Analytical problem solver, comfortable being hands on with data and analysis
- Aptitude for fostering positive relationships
- Commercially aware and customer focused
- Ability to collaborate and liaise with cross functional internal teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and influence senior stakeholders
