Trade Compliance Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity with a world leading engineering and manufacturing organisation.
You will support the Head of Trade Compliance with review and execution of policies and procedures.
The Trade Compliance Specialist will support stakeholders within the business on Trade Compliance matters such as International Export Controls, ethics, anti-bribery and corruption. You will Officer play a crucial role in Supporting the Head of Trade Compliance to help the business to develop and maintain a robust compliance programme through effective leadership and management.
The Trade Compliance Specialist will help develop current training material to reflect a dynamic regulatory environment. This role-holder may have to represent the Head of Trade Compliance - Helicopters due to annual leave etc.
The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team responsible for management of a Trade Compliance Programme. This includes International Export & Import Controls, Risk Management and Ethics, Anti Bribery/Corruption. The main focus of this role is to ensure adherence of company policies & procedures relating to International Trade Compliance programme for the business. In order to be successful in this role you must have the ability to understand complex issues and be able to rationalise solutions to effect successful outcomes

- Ensure compliance with all applicable International Trade Compliance Regulations including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Create & develop Trade Compliance working processes within the Helicopters Division.
- Work closely with a Trade Compliance network within the Helicopters UK business.
- Provide sound guidance and advice on Trade Compliance matters with Program Managers acting as an Export Focal.
- Assist departments with product classification of internally designed products as well as external supplier products.
- Advise on registration, application and subsequent management of export authorisations using SPIRE/LITE.
- Advise with registration, application of F680/F1686/ACP authorisations in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Assist the Head of Trade Compliance with root cause analysis for "Matters under Review" where potential violations may have occurred.
- Contribute to the evolution of Trade Compliance Training to business. Review current training materials and collaborate with Trade Compliance Manager on learning objectives and using effective enabling objectives.
- Seek out opportunity for continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency.
- Carry out any reasonable requests and tasks as delegated by the Head of Trade Compliance.
- Support the Head of Trade Compliance as required.
- 3 to 5 years of Trade Compliance Experience within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- 3 to 5 Years of effective line management or supervisory capability.
- Practical experience of export controls such as US ITAR, EAR and UK Export Controls is essential.
- Experience of managing projects within Defence and Commercial business Environments is desirable.
- Experience of dealing with external agencies such as the US DDTC, BIS and UK ECJU, HMRC.
- Experience in UK Customs regimes such as IPR, OPR and Customs Warehousing is desirable.
- Able to interface well with internal stakeholders across the business as well as interacting with external parties such as Integrated Project Teams (IPTs both internal and external), Suppliers and Customers as authorised to do so.
- Remain customer focused and dedicated to meeting expectations whilst maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Ability to work cross functionally and influence internal stakeholders in a complex environment.
