Are you an experienced Financial Controller looking for a fresh challenge?

Do you have experience in Manufacturing?

Our client in the North-West has a multi-site manufacturing operation and needs a Head of Finance/Financial Controller to lead improvements in their finance processes.

The group has been trading for 30+ years and has built a fantastic reputation in their sector. They manufacture specialised products within a niche marketplace and require controls and processes developing with both the commercial and financial reporting.

While this role sits over all the companies in the group, your focus will be on the Central Lancashire site base in Preston. The board have identified areas for improvement in stock control management and reporting, as well as a complete KPI reporting system on the site. So, these will be critical areas for your attention in the short term.

As the Financial Controller, you will lead the finance and admin teams in all their needs. You’ll be crucial to this growing business by ensuring that every financial aspect is under control and having input into the strategic planning with the Managing Directors on each site, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:
  • Full responsibility for the financial control of the companies, including credit control, control of payments and bank accounts
  • Preparation of monthly budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Production of monthly management reports.
  • Setting and reporting of KPIs in each company.
  • Analysing costs to provide actionable information to the SMT.
  • Creation and development of reporting systems across the companies.
  • Production of monthly sales reports, price variances, costings and processes.
  • Production of monthly financial forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Liaising with defined benefit pension scheme advisors.
  • Liaising with company auditors and tax advisors.
As for your background, our client would ideally like you to be ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified, although an experienced QBE with strong experience would also be considered. You must have experience in a commercial role in industry – ideally manufacturing or logistics. And you’ll love problem-solving and working on your own initiative.

In addition, you’ll be familiar with standard accounting packages like Sage 200 and be proficient with Microsoft Excel. You’ll also be a confident communicator and have experience leading finance teams on multiple sites.

If you are interested in this role or wish to discuss your CV, please apply to Rachel Mitson at Rebus Recruitment Ltd, and we would be happy to review your application.
