Charity People is delighted to have partnered with Guy's and St Thomas' Charity in their search for an Associate Director of Public Fundraising. As the team moves into the next phase of an ambitious fundraising strategy, this key leadership role will drive donor acquisition and sustainable income growth.

About theGuy's and St Thomas' fundraising team

Last year the Charity took its first step to becoming a truly audience led Charity by launching three charity brands to support Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust: Guy's & St Thomas' Charity, Evelina London Children's Charity and Guy's Cancer Charity. The fundraising team works across all three charities to support the incredible NHS staff and healthcare across the hospital sites and communities, including raising transformational levels of funding that develops world leading innovations in healthcare.

Over the last four years the fundraising team has been on an incredible journey; launching their first fundraising strategy, managing a viral campaign that went global and made JustGiving history, won an international award for digital stewardship as well as projecting to raise circa GBP10m over target for the strategy period.

About the role

As the team conclude their current fundraising strategy, they are looking to the future and the next phase in their journey. They will now work towards the launch of their new strategy in April 2023, set to achieve ambitious but achievable growth over the coming 4 years. This is a career defining role that will shape the next chapter of these three inspiring charities' story.

The Associate Director of Public Fundraising will lead the Direct Marketing, Legacy and In Memory and Community & Events teams. Working together with the Director of Fundraising, the focus of this strategic leadership role will be to significantly grow and evolve the programme so that the charities can be even more impactful for beneficiaries.

About you

We are looking for a senior fundraising leader with the ability to take Guy's and St Thomas' public fundraising to the next level. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strength and experience in individual giving or harnessing support of communities and engagement that converts to donations.

You'll be strategic and creative in your approach. You'll have proven success of raising significant income and leading high calibre fundraising teams to clear and ambitious targets.

Every day you'll be inspired to succeed and provide the very best support for NHS hospitals, researchers, community teams and patients, and will be passionate about supporting the NHS charities during a period of change in the wider charity and political landscape.

This role would suit someone ambitious but with the patience and motivation to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with working across multiple charity brands and their audiences, including recommending and influencing change across the organisation.
