A successful award–winning healthcare communications agency has an exciting opportunity for a Scientific Director/Content Director for its award–winning Editorial team. This unit creates global communication programmes to assist many of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. Our client is recognised as one of the leading agencies in this field and has achieved international recognition for its creative work. The company is based in offices in Beaconsfield and handles campaigns for some of the biggest brands from some of the best–known pharmaceutical companies in the world.
The purpose of this role will be to lead the editorial team and further develop the agency's medical education content strategy capability. This is a real priority role and has the potential of ultimately joining the management team as they continue to grow outside of production.
We are looking for a Scientific Director/Content Director to join a dedicated group within their busy editorial department. Worth noting, this med comms agency doesn't really do a lot of publication planning. One of their absolute priorities is to continue to build the structure of the editorial team, so if you are looking to develop and broaden your writing/editorial and management skills or you wish to play a role in the development and leadership of the team this could be an interesting role for you.
This med comms agency has a flexible working policy. They work about 1–2 days a week in the office on average.
Must haves:–
- Life sciences degree (PhD preferred but not essential).
- Ability to demonstrate scientific understanding and to translate that understanding into medical strategy and compelling scientific stories that resonate with target audiences.
- This individual must also be able to pair their scientific acumen with a commercial understanding that will ensure they lead a team to develop high–quality deliverables and to actively generate wealth for the business.
- The Scientific Director is a key leadership role within the agency, accountable for the editorial and content quality of the work delivered for clients that challenges and shapes pharmaceutical scientific strategies of the future.
- To be recognised internally and externally as an expert in the development and implementation of strategic communication plans, ideally in one or several therapy areas/specialisms.
