ScottishPower's Business Analysts play a key role in driving our roadmap of improvements to help deliver the best possible experience to our customers. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work on various Energy Mangement projects critical to ScottishPower's needs . Working in partnership between the business stakeholders and the software developers, ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, understood, and successfully delivered.
What you'll do
You'll be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple small and medium sized projects, capturing business requirements and supporting the development process through to successful implementation of projects within the Energy Management business functions.
You'll be responsible for working within the framework of Energy Management applications and this will involve early engagement with the business to capture requirements and coordination of suppliers to design, develop, test and implement new functionality. As a senior role this includes development of specialist application knowledge and possibly can include mentoring of Business Analysts. It also includes management of user acceptance testing and responsibility for the governance processes.
Who you'll be?
You'll will be an expert in gathering data and customer objectives, carrying out business modelling, and presenting your findings as clear and compelling to key stakeholders across the business. Holding strong experience in partnership working, you will build strong relationships with a diverse range of key stakeholders to support business objectives. Working with an analytical focus, with product management skills, and understanding how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
You'll have a proven background in agile and business analysis methodologies and techniques. Being established in skills mapping, feasibility studies and options analysis, to business case development, confident in making judgements and decisions for assigned projects with tight time constraints/tolerances in place for each project.
You will be a key partner in the design, delivery and evaluation of IT requirements and development of appropriate Global and Local solutions, with a proven ability to apply knowledge of businesses and sector in order to ensure IT development projects are fit for purpose and support business goals/strategy.
You'll have a significant breadth and depth of expertise in applying business process improvement within complex environments and have strong experience of establishing and maintaining standards and process. Being degree qualified in Computer Science or relevant subject and ideally have experience of Energy Management applications in one or more of the following areas: Energy Trading Applications, Compliance and Financial Controls, Margins & Hedge Accounting, Asset Management and Document Management.
