Job Profile Summary The Head of Offshore Wind Ports, Transport & Installation will be responsible for the global strategy, design, selection, contract and manage the delivery of logistics, transport and installation of the offshore foundations, wind turbines, cables and offshore substations in all the offshore wind (OFW) projects during the whole life cycle.

This role may be based out of Sunbury, London or Aberdeen dependent on the right candidate. We may also be able to explore alternative office locations on a case–by–case basis
Job Advert Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop transport and installation technology roadmap and strategy, including respective innovation and demonstration projects and technology assessments.
  • Develop transport and installation technical specification and development plans to partner with procurement and manage the delivery of logistics, transport and installation of the offshore foundations, wind turbines, cables and offshore substations, managing the T&I and IAC packages in projects.
  • Assess, analyse and select ports and vessels for projects.
  • Conduct quality controls of installation equipment.
  • Sign off on technology selection, project assumptions, suppliers selection, T&I contract and technical decisions.
  • Be responsible for building, training and leading a capable team to manage ports, transport and installation activities and contracts
  • Be responsible for developing and implementing the ports, transport and installation methodology and for identifying, processing and implementing knowledge and lessons learnt.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that bp is selecting, contracting and delivering ports, transport and installation that minimise project LCoE.

Desirable Experience:
  • Considerable experience with offshore transport and installation activities (preferably with experience in offshore wind T&I).
  • Deep technical understanding of offshore wind T&I (preferably in all T&I areas: WTG, foundations, cables, substations).
  • Deep understanding of ports selection for offshore wind projects.
  • Deep understanding of installation planning for offshore wind projects.
  • Deep understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of T&I contracts.
  • Project management experience, both in T&I packages and project management methodologies.
  • Proven track record of responsiblity for multi–million contracts in various projects.
  • Strong management and leadership experience and skills – equipped to motivate, engage and drive high performance
  • Strategic skills and capable to represent bp with high level management of T&I supplier

If successful, you will:
  • Be part of the OFW Engineering leadership team and coordinate works with the rest of Engineering disciplines.
  • Work with multi–located and multi–disciplinary teams locally and globally in OFW and across bp.
  • Work with procurement, legal, business development and project management teams to develop the T&I and IAC packages of the projects.
  • Provide technical support to the relationships with ports authorities.
