Finance Business Partner, 70–80K, 6 months

Do you want to be part of building a new European business venture? Toner Graham is looking for the right person to fill the position as Finance Partner for a business area with a presence in the UK and Europe. Launched 4 years ago in the UK, after a successful market entry in various cities and regions, winning major projects and tenders the Finance team is now looking for a Finance Business partner to step in.

You will be part of a dynamic Finance (Business Control) team and become the right hand of the Senior Finance Partner. You will actively partner with key departments and managers, handling complex financial issues based on strong insights into the financials of different projects. You will play an important role in providing transparent financial information and analysis for decision making.
You will play a relevant role in UK departments with suitable steering models, business analysis and financial management information as well as maintaining and improving financial governance and supporting the decision making processes. You will work with established operational financial systems for the business which are fit–for–purpose to deliver large infrastructure projects and adjust these where needed.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Provide department heads and project leads with relevant, reliable financial information, business analysis enabling the business to achieve the financial objectives
Support the Senior Business Controller in all Business Control Core Processes (reporting, forecasting, planning)
Support the monthly closing process (close interaction with Accounting Team) for the parent company and subsidiaries
Run monthly reports in SAP and prepare the financial reporting packages
Support monthly financial analysis and forecasting processes including follow up of KPIs and the reporting of scorecards
Support the Business Planning process of the parent company and subsidiaries
Support the step change towards digitalisation (Dashboarding with PowerBI)
Support capex steering and monitoring
Maintain and improve planning and forecasting tools
Actively support the Senior Finance Business Partner in establishing and improving financial processes and systems (project controlling/ cost centre controlling)
Support the Joint Venture in all financial matters (reporting/ financial governance/ financial operations)
Support JVs, UK business and partnerships with financial treatments of grants and preparation of the relevant documentation

Experience
Newly or Part Qualified accountant (ideally CIMA or equivalent)
Professional experience with financial management / business control
Strong analytical and structuring skills with the ability to understand and assess business cases
Experience in investment environments such as energy, utilities, transport or infrastructure
Strong business acumen and commercial thinking
International exposure, working in a corporate environment desired
In–depth working experience and knowledge in SAP essential, Cognos knowledge is a bonus
Excellent Excel and Power–BI skills

Strong ability to structure, analyse and interpret complex financial and commercial issues, as well as presenting the information in a clear and concise format (also to non–financial people)
Ability to work independently, with a hands–on and pragmatic mind set.
Excellent communication skills and able to work across international cultures
Interested in further development of financial and interpersonal competencies and skills.
