Project Manager Housing Development (P01625)
Job description
Are you an experienced Development Manager with energy and enthusiasm?
An opportunity has arisen within our Team to progress new affordable housing schemes across the New Forest. Working with the New Business PM you will be taking the lead on all aspects of delivery and contract administration on a diverse range of new building projects from conversions and refurbishments, to S106 and Council commissioned new–build scheme.
Would you like to work as part of our team, solely focussed on delivering affordable homes across the New Forest?
10 years ago, New Forest District Council started to build a brand–new generation of affordable housing. Today we have ambitious plans to build 600 additional council owned homes for rent and for shared ownership. With 250 complete and 150 more in the pipeline we have made great progress but there is more to do.
Excellent at leading and communicating?
You can expect your strong project management and communication skills will be used to good effect, leading design and contract delivery teams, managing the Clerk of Works, and liaising with colleagues and partners inside and outside the Council to move building projects forward through design, planning, and construction stages.
You have:
Membership of a relevant professional construction or surveying body and at least five years' development experience. You will be able to fulfil contract administration roles; be a competent problem solver with a proven affordable housing delivery track record and be used to the rules and requirements that go along with Homes England grant funding.
What's in it for you?
- Up to 26 days annual leave (plus an additional 5 days after 5 years' service)
- LGPS Pension scheme (defined benefits)
- On–site parking
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Hybrid working
- Wide range of employee discounts at high street retailers, including supermarkets, stores, and restaurants
- A Cycle to Work scheme which could save you around 40% on cycles and accessories
At NFDC we believe that all our employees make a valuable contribution to the work of the Council and that's why we encourage a trusting and open culture where each employee is supported and respected equally, where ideas are actively sought, and self–development promoted.
If this post is of interest and you would like to know more about the role and the remuneration package on offer, you are strongly encouraged to contact Tim Davis (Service Manager Housing Development and Strategy Manager) on .
