Our client, a well-respected Pension Fund, is seeking to appoint a Head of Accounting Operations to oversee entity trial balances, the delivery of reconciled tax and VAT data, and champion the delivery of a continuous improvement agenda. The firm has grown substantially through organic growth and acquisition over recent years. In line with future growth, the business is looking to appoint an experienced and adaptable Head of Accounting Operations who will bring substantial leadership experience to help oversee the governance of accounting processes and change, establishing a best-in-class framework.
This role will be responsible for the development of accounting operations finance change projects, working alongside the finance leadership team to co-ordinate the sub-ledger and general ledger close process. The role will also manage the implementation of Financial Control policies, whilst also holding responsibility for the coordination and management of internal and external audit and tax queries. The role will also lead accounting operations’ transactions processing, and the delivery of technical support to Finance and business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMA from big 4 background) with extensive accounting operations experience. You should bring clear understanding of best practice within accounting operations, and extensive experience developing finance control framework. You must be a highly credible people leader, with commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and experience of taking ownership and driving change and improvement within Finance. You should also be a highly effective communicator, with ambition, drive, pace, enthusiasm, and willingness to deliver in a performance-driven environment.
