This company has embarked on a period of significant growth, the HR Director (HRD) will be a key member of the UK senior leadership team, driving the business forwards through being accountable for the attraction, development, and retention of a talented workforce. Leading the wider HR team, the HRD will provide inspiring leadership, demonstrating a commitment to personal excellence and continued development.

The HRD will be accountable for developing and delivering a forward thinking, business aligned HR strategy through:

  • Working closely with the c–suite to build and support effective senior management capability but not being afraid to challenge the status quo using sound judgement
  • Leading and inspiring the HR team, through coaching and developing individuals, and acting as an inspirational role model
  • Developing and maintaining a high level of credibility with the business through the provision of accurate data and metrics to drive commercial decisions
  • Driving high levels of employee engagement through the effective and compelling communication of the business strategy and accompanying HR Roadmap
  • Provide change management consulting within the team to support the continual evolution of the business and organisational effectiveness
  • Support the development of high–performance culture. Driving HR strategy across the organisation
  • Delivering a robust succession planning process, identifying, and nurturing top talent within the business to ensure the future success of the business
  • Embedding a learning culture through the delivery of a learning and development strategy in collaboration with business leads to identify and secure the current and future skills needed for the Company's success and to maximise the development and growth of all employees
  • Taking a proactive, commercial, and pragmatic approach to employee relations in a legally compliant and professional way, in line with the Company's core values
  • Developing strong, trusting, and positive relationships with colleagues to support, influence and successfully deliver initiatives in the UK
  • Coaching senior managers to build leadership capabilities, identify future talent, engage their teams, and manage change effectively
  • Ensuring that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity are embedded throughout the HR strategy as part of the Company's values

Experience & Skills Required:

The following personal attributes and experience will contribute to the successful delivery of this role:

  • Senior level HR experience in a fast paced, deadline driven culture
  • A strategic and innovative thinker, displaying sound judgement and diplomacy to determine when it is appropriate to challenge the status quo in the pursuit of excellence
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to initiate difficult and challenging discussions where appropriate
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with proven experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships
  • Experience of dealing with complex and challenging merger and acquisitions, redundancies and reorganisations
  • A passion for learning and development, with experience coaching and developing managers and leaders to upskill and develop talent in the business
  • Established use of commercial and financial acumen to facilitate discussions with the business and leadership team to make sound commercial and people–based decisions
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law issues and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common sense approach
