Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement include but not limited to:
- Developing and implementing communications and engagement strategies to support the corporate plan to deliver maximum impact
- Raising awareness of their service amongst residents, building their understanding and trust in what they do and increase accessibility
- Developing communications and media relations to increase the visible impact of the work they do
- Providing strategic and tactical communications advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team
- Developing crisis communications plans and media protocols in line with business continuity requirements
The Successful Applicant
The successful Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement will have:
- A track record of leading, managing and motivating professional teams
- Extensive experience of working with the media in a high profile, national organisation including knowledge of social media and traditional media
- Great understanding of the social, political and economic environment and their impact on the issues, implications and challenges facing public sector organisations
- Experience in business planning, quality assurance and risk management.
- Strong track record of developing and delivering high quality and innovative strategic communication campaigns and powerful storytelling communications internally and externally across a range of channels.
