Wanted: A human swiss army knife with experience and leadership skills in Operations, Production / Planning & Procurement, Quality, Operations and Delivery, ideally gained within an advanced manufacturing environment.
We re on the hunt for an ambitious Operations Manager from a manufacturing or engineering background that would relish the chance to use their extensive experience to lead a team of highly skilled and qualified engineers and scientists, with in–house skills from electronics design (both analogue and digital), embedded software, test and calibration through to ultrasonic inspection.
This team have been working diligently on innovation and product development and recently designed and manufactured a new range of multichannel and phased array ultrasound controllers for use in the Non–Destructive Testing industries, and things are getting very exciting indeed.
With demand for their products building steadily, and sizable growth on the horizon, there is a real opportunity to scale this organisation dramatically in the next 36 months. As Operations Manager you will shape, and then execute the roadmap for expansion. Now working worldwide and across a range of industries, such as Power Generation, Nuclear (both civil and military, Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Offshore/Renewables, Manufacturing, and Rail there are considerable market opportunities which will see this organisation build their reputation as a world leader.
The Role: You will oversee and manage all operational activities to ensure ongoing effective delivery of products and services as well as enabing growth in line with the wider business strategy. Operating with a pre–agreed set of operational standards, you will manage all day–to–day operational improvement, product development and business growth. Ultimately, tasked to inspire, motivate and lead a dedicated team to deliver world–class products to a global customer base.
Summary of responsibilities and activities

Oversee all operational aspects of company strategy

Management of all operational activities in Peak

Scheduling of operations to meet demand

Management of the procurement team

Management of the production team
-
Management of calibration team
-
Continual evaluation, management and development of operations systems and processes

Appraisals and appraisal oversight for the ops team
-
QA: continue to drive ISO standards through the business as required

Legal, regulatory and HSE compliance
-
Support team training, development and onboarding as required
-
Running team meetings as required
-
Supporting and reporting to MD
-
Support to strategy development
-
Budget management
-
Manage relationships with external stakeholders

Degree qualified (essential)

Operations management > 2 years (essential)

Electronic manufacturing experience (desirable)

Strong people management and leadership skills, capable of motivating staff (essential)

Excellent customer service skills (essential)

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to analyse reports (essential)

An appropriate level of IT skills (essential)

Knowledge of ISO and UKAS standards (preferred)
