Head of Water Quality

Head of Water Quality Salary: GBP60–75k, based on experience, + Car/Allowance and Bonus Hours: 37per week Location: Either Walsall or Cambridge
At South Staffs Water we deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.7 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions.
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Water Quality to join our South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water teams. Reporting to the Strategy and Regulation Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of drinking water quality from abstraction to the customer tap, as well as being the primary interface between the business and our Quality Regulator – the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI). This a key strategic role for the business involving engagement with operational teams, customer teams and a number of our external stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic guidance to the business on all matters relating to drinking water quality and the associated legislation, including the periodic review process • Ensure South Staffs Water is aware of and compliant with legal obligations and commitments related to drinking water quality • Lead on the relationship between the Company and DWI on matters relating to Drinking water Quality, Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) and the Network Information Systems (NIS) Regulations • Lead on the promotion of all things drinking water quality both internal and external to the business • Lead on the continuous improvement of our Drinking Water Safety Plans to meet both regulatory and business need • Ensure compliance with the programme of Regulatory returns to ensure timeliness and quality of response • Manage and develop direct reports and their wider teams to ensure delivery of team and business objectives
You will be educated to Degree level in a relevant subject with at least 5 years post qual. work experience at a senior level and will have proven people, project and subject matter experience. A current valid driving licence is required.
