Women are the overwhelming majority of victims of domestic abuse, a violation of their and their children's human rights. Jewish Women's Aid is the only specialist organisation in the UK supporting Jewish women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. No Jewish woman should have to face this alone. Our origins date back to the 1980s, when groups of Jewish women, mostly social workers, were meeting to find ways of supporting Jewish women facing domestic violence and abuse. Today we provide practical and emotional support to Jewish women affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence, as well as advocacy and advice, counselling, children's therapy, training for communal professionals and healthy relationships education. Our vision is vision is of a world where women and girls live their lives free from all forms of violence and abuse. Chief Executive Jewish Women's Aid Up to GBP85,000 Finchley with flexible home working, depending on the needs of the role We are seeking a Chief Executive to continue our crucial support and ensure our key knowledge and experience is a force for a change in perception. The Chief Executive will lead a committed team of staff and 140 volunteers, work with a skills–focused Board and oversee a solid financial position. The CEO will lead our work within the Jewish community, with policy makers and with partners to raise awareness of domestic abuse and JWA's support for women and to effect policy change. She will provide leadership externally with our funder and partner relationships and internally, supporting our new team structure to thrive. She will also review our future opportunities as we look ahead to JWA's next strategic period in 2023. We are seeking an inspiring senior leader with a passion for women's equality and an understanding of the Jewish community who brings; – Experience as an ambassador and spokesperson, of influencing a broad range of stakeholders and raising organisational profile – A proven track record of developing relationships resulting in income generation and partnerships – Experience of developing and supporting staff to be as effective as possible – Most importantly you will be inspired to place the survivor at the heart of all our work.
