Our client are operating at the cutting edge of clean energy, supporting a low carbon future. They are on a mission to establish build and develop the solution, borne out of biomass technology, evolving to the next level to incorporate carbon capture technology.

This is an extremely exciting venture, which will play a key role in the UKs future energy needs using innovative negative emissions technology which has a positive effect on the environment.

One of the key roles the business need to recruit for is a Head of Supply Chain Development.

Purpose:

• Turn the work of biomass commercial outputs at a regional level
• Manage global team of in–country developers
• Determine the optimal local sourcing strategy and input to overall project development scheme, translating the strategic intent into a real development opportunity and leveraging strategic commercial relationships
• Advance commercial agreements to secure and logistics sufficient to underpin project FID (e.g., executable HoTs / contracts with conditions precedent)
• Own the development scheme to aggregate and transport materials to site, including materials–related logistics, permits
• Create infrastructure scheme to connect mega deals to projects supply chain, interim storage, connection hubs, etc.
• Work with Technical Development team to ensure plant engineering scheme can manage the mix including materials handling, processing and drying and combustion.
• Work with Technical Development Team to optimize the plant design to manage opex/capex/engineering tradeoffs
• Sort in country logistics at macro level
• Lead on major contracts with rail, road, river etc.
• Ensure each project has the right quantity and type of fuel from the overarching fibre supply contracts
• Figure out and implement the level of just in time delivery needed and make it work.
• Work closely with H2 Development and H1 Operations to coordinate, appraise and manage the impact of competing local procurement across the Group
Organisation Chart:

Dimensions:
• Managing 10+ international development teams (20+ people)
• Delivering contracts worth $2n+ per site, plus infrastructure plan to deliver (chipping mills, pellets mills hundreds of $m capex

Key Accountabilities:
• Building a team of international developers
• Deliver a procurement scheme to underpin and securing FID on NBBECCS projects
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
• Major greenfield project development experience essential
• Biomass or similar energy experience an advantage
