The Asset Team requires an experienced Package/Project Manager to support its special projects, with the primary responsibility of managing the EPCI contract for the 400kV upgrade works at Onshore Substation, but they will also support other special projects and activities in the wider Asset Team, if required.
The 400kV upgrade works is an EPCI contract placed to upgrade the Onshore Substation and is aligned with SSEN–T "North East 400" program. This upgrade is critical to ensure that the Offshore Windfarm can continue export to the grid through 2023 and onwards. The Package Manager will manage the EPCI Contractor to ensure that the requirements of the upgrade are successfully met.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver HSE performance through design and implementation to eliminate or reduce risks during construction, operation and maintenance.
Responsible for planning, time schedule and budget control of the 400kV upgrade works package works.
Manage the identification and mitigation of technical and commercial risks, issues and impacts of the 400kV upgrade works package works.
Coordination of multi–disciplinary company resources.
Responsible to implement all possible cost reduction initiatives, in order to manage the most cost–efficient CAPEX.
Ensure Contractors' cooperation to execute the HSE Plan and CDM regulations.
Prepare monthly reporting and present progress to senior management.
Manage handover of the substation to the OFTO.
REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related.
Transmission network/onshore substation experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years' experience related to management / delivery of transmission networks / onshore substation works. Contract management experience is required.
Experience across all project phases including design, manufacturing, construction, commissioning and handover is required. Experience of managing a multi–disciplinary engineering/project management team is required. A recognised project management qualification/accreditation is desirable. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is desirable. A recognised qualification in health and safety would be advantageous, e.g. either IOSH or NEBOSH.
Other specifications: Location in Edinburgh but regular travelling to the Onshore Substation in Aberdeenshire.
